Meet our Musical Family

Our teachers are friends and family dedicated to their craft, coming together to share their passion with their students, the community, and each other.

It is our mission to make learning music as enjoyable and rewarding as possible.

Mr. Eric Legato

Eric is a musical entrepreneur with passion for teaching students young and old! Eric’s musical knowledge and experience crosses genres, from rock - to blues, broadway, or Mozart - Eric embraces music in all of its forms, and has dedicated himself to lifelong learning and teaching of the musical arts.

Strumming his first guitar at age six, and studying music ever since, Eric played cello and guitar throughout school in jazz band, symphonic orchestra, string quartets, youth orchestras and competitive festivals (NYSSMA). He continued to study performance, conducting, music theory and composition into college and graduated from Oswego University of New York with a bachelor’s degree in arts (BA), specializing in music performance.

Eric loves performing and sharing the stage with others and is a regular with the band on cello for singer/songwriter Jesse Terry when he plays locally at The Winery at St. George in Mohegan Lake.

When Eric isn't teaching you can find him playing with his dog, cheering on students at the ball field, playing a round of golf or enjoying a fun video game (Legend of Zelda is his favorite!)

Mrs. Samantha Legato

Samantha is a lifelong musician. A fervent player from an early age, she is a classically trained violinist who also plays piano, viola, cello, bass, guitar, and sings. She has provided professional music instruction in Westchester since 2010.

She enjoys working with all ages, but is particularly passionate about starting little ones on their musical journeys and — most importantly — making music fun. Her approach and lesson structure make learning an instrument engaging and memorable for young minds, instilling musical confidence in them from day one.

Privately trained, Samantha has performed in many symphonic and chamber orchestras, quartets, select choir, fiddle groups, and bands. She is an indie singer-songwriter and plays first violin with local community orchestras such as the Northern Westchester Symphony Orchestra, and Cortlandt Chamber Orchestra. She is also a registered member of NAfME.

Samantha enjoys animals, art, photography, philosophy, nintendo, and gardening.
